wierd force close issues

so i finally found the courage to root my phone and installed xtrROM 4.6.5. i'm loving it with 2 minor exceptions. first, while i can access the calender app to see, if i click on a day (to see what i have scheduled or add something) it comes up process com.htc.calender has stopped unexpectedly. Force close. second, when i go into settings and select acccounts and sync i get process com.htc.settings,accountsync has stopped expectedly. force close. please help me resolve these issues.

Bob will likely have a better answer but it sounds like your phone doesn't like your ROM.

I'd try flashing a diff ROM and see if you have the same problems. Kaosfroyo and CELB appear to be the most widely used and are both very stable.

I just flashed that rom and I LOVE IT! I've used several different ones and that is probably my favorite 2.1 ROM.
Definitely don't have the syncing issue but I don't use the stock calendar, so I can't help you there either.
You could try re-flashing it and see if that helps? I know that I've had to do that with other roms in the past. Be sure to clear the cache and wipe the data before flashing.

Thanks for the suggestions to both of you. When i get home i'm gonna do some fooling around with the phone. I'm not the most tech savy person on the block. Just a grandmother.

Thats the ROM I put on my wifes phone, and its been flawless so far. Id try a fresh wipe and install, if not, your phone might not like the ROM.

ok, one last question, since i haven't ever wiped and reloaded a rom, from the aman ra recovery menu, i select wipe, then do i select wipe dalvic/cache or wipe data/factory reset or both.

I'd do them both, and do each one two or three times. No one understands why, but multiple wipes usually take care of problems.
