WiFi not auto connecting

So for some reason my phone isn't connecting to any wifi automatically. It used to do it no problem but a couple weeks ago it just stopped doing it. I have been using Juice Defender pro and the smart actions to control my wifi amongst other things. Smart actions turns it off while i'm at work and I thought the JD was supposed to connect to wifi automatically when one was in range. I have to manually do it each time. Any ideas cause I tried everything I could think of.

On a side note. does having more shortcuts on your home screens use more battery? I know some widgets will but I just mean regular apps.

Give up JD... if wifi is "off" it isn't going to detect the wifi signal. It has to be on.

Verizon has a great app to automatically turn wifi on/off depending on location taken via the cell tower. Free in the store..
verizon wifi auto...
