Motorola Razr (XT912) with JB (Verizon)
I was recently in Ecuador. The hotel has free wifi. But I wasn't able to make my phone to connect to wifi with Roaming OFF - to browse, not to make calls. I just kept on getting text messages from Verizon to offer me the international roaming packages.
I know the wifi works. It works with laptop and my daughter's IPhone. My daughter has an IPhone (same Verizon plan). She can browse with her phone with Roaming OFF and Wifi ON. [It was a simple setting change with sliders on the display]
I'll be out of country again next month. Any help is appreciated.
