WIFI problems since 5.0.2 upgrade

Hey

I have a Nexus 7 2013 version tablet. I was without my tablet for a couple of months and when I got it back I was soon asked to upgrade from 4.4.4 to 5.0.2.

The first thing I noticed is that all my saved WiFi profiles and passwords were gone.

Since then I have had a few problems. When I turn on the tablet it takes 5 minutes or so for the WiFi to turn on. When I open settings during this time nothing appears in the WiFi screen and it often crashes. WiFi passwords and profiles are never saved. After a reboot I need to connect and enter the password again.

I think something with the WiFi profiles got currupted during the upgrade. Any ideas? Thanks

Welcome to the forum

Any time there is a MAJOR upgrade like the one you had there is a possibility of something going badly during the upgrade. My thought is that the system may not have been 100% before the upgrade and the upgrade turned the corner. The general suggestion is to do a factory reset. That may end up being easier than fighting with it.

Welcome to our little internet home away from home!

As Leeshor has stated, and older members of our forum are probably getting tired of seeing posted, a factory reset is usually in order after a major upgrade like this. I have a 2012 Nexus 7 and my fiance has a 2013 and we both had to do a factory reset because of different issues after the upgrade.

As a result, when my Note 4 got the upgrade, I did a factory reset without even waiting to see if I'd have issues.

If you need help resetting the device, or have further questions, please feel free to let us know. If you do a reset, please share your results!

Nope. Just quoted you to add to your comment. Haha! New member, so my thought process was to put your post right in mine since I was referencing it, for easier reference.

Also, it's Friday morning and I didn't sleep well last night. Not sure I'm firing on all 4 cylinders yet. ;)
