wifi slow to detect/connect

Hi all,

I don't currently have a verizon data plan so I set my droid to switch from [COLOR=#812528 ! important][COLOR=#812528 ! important]wifi[/COLOR][/COLOR] to 3G when the screen is locked. This just shuts off the wifi when the screen is locked (I do the same thing with my old iPhone 3G).

However, when I unlock the screen again, it takes quite a long time to reconnect to our [COLOR=#812528 ! important][COLOR=#812528 ! important]wireless [COLOR=#812528 ! important]router[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]. (I timed it at 3 minutes of scanning)

Is this normal or is there perhaps an issue? Note this is Froyo...

:welcome: to the forum Damon. I doubt you'll get much help on this becuz there probably aren't too many ppl here that don't use a data plan. I'd just change the settings to stay on wifi.
