WiFi speed?

Been a member awhile and have done a ton of lurking. While it took me many hours and start overs I have succesfully rooted my Dx and have GBL .5 up and running. Here at the office I connect to our network by wifi. We have business comcast and this mornings speed test showed a download speed of 58mbps. My wifi connection says that the signal is "excellent" and that the link speed is 65mbps. When I run a down load speed test from my Dx connected to the network I get 10.78 mbps. Now this is waaaaay better than the same test on 3g (.48mbps) and I shouldn't be greedy but is there anything that I can do to increase my wifi speed? I apologize in advance. I'm sure that this has been asked before but I couldn't find it (my search fu sucks) Thanks

This is just a hunch but I doubt many smartphones today can handle 60mbps of throughput even though the bandwidth is there.

Also it is important to note that 802.11x networks will never reach the speeds they claim. There is too much overhead on a wireless connection to reach the theoretical maximum throughput of those networks.

Thank you for your reply. I don't expect to get 50 or 60mbps but it was my understanding that some people were getting as much as 40-44mbps. I am severely technologically challenged so I very well may have misunderstood. I was just looking for a mod or tweak to bump the speed up. Thanks.

I usually average around 5.5-12Mbps on my Droid X. I believe that is the just about the max it can handle.

Currently on a 60Mbps cable connection where other devices reach the maximum.

Don't forget this is your connection with the router, your still limited by the provider and upload of the source.

Yes. Some people will expect the 65Mbps they see in the connection details even on their 8Mbps line.

Has anyone reached above 12-13Mbps? I can never seem to top it on either my 60Mbpsconnection, or my works 25Mbps connection
