Verizon FiOS is one of Verizon's TV, phone, and internet services for home and businesses. FiOS = Fiber Optics. Pretty good service for a reasonable price.

Signum & lol - You're both getting upwards of 9Mbps to your Droids via WiFi from Fios. I'm getting max 4Mpbs to my Droid Eris via WiFi from Fios. Any idea why? Is the Eris WiFi card slower than the Motorola Droid? Seems like my Eris isn't even taking advantage of 802.11b speeds, though everything is configured for 802.11g. Today I'm getting 12Mbps to my iBook through the same WiFi connection. The reason I started looking into this is streaming video is choppy.
how much did you pay for your verizon fios package? I Currently have optimum wifi and im getting around 6mbs. Im thinking of whether changing to fios soon lol
im in south florida and have 25/15 i absolutly love it. ive had fios here since 2006. we used to have the TV and phone services too but i went back to DirecTV but kept the FiOS internet.
Kodiak- are you using a Verizon provided WiFi? With the Verizon (Actiontec router) WiFi I'm getting 4Mbps. I added a linksys WiFi g router as an access point for the other side of the house and was getting only 2.8Mbps down. Shuffled the channels, set WiFi g only and now I'm getting 5Mbps from the linksys.
Yep....Downloaded an app from market. Are you saying that's inaccurate? What site should I use?
Also, yes, I have a netgear wireless router not verizon. Too late to return it. Oh well, don't really do a lot of surfing at home, anyway, but would be nice to get max speed. Crazy thing is, I get upload speeds that are actually a little faster (d/l 1500kbs, u/l 2000kbs).
OK, changed test server and it's much faster. Different server still gives me @4.5 down and 2.1 up. Question is, which numbers are the best gauge? I'd guess the fastest is probably most accurate.
