wifi tethering makes my phone pretty warm

i am guessing this is normal? i just rooted tuesday night and right now i am using the wifi tether for the 2nd time. it's also in the charging cradle at the same time but i'm only running it at 550mhz when it's charging. the first time my temps got up to 41c or so. this time i've been tethering for about a half hour and again i'm closing in on 40c.

is everybody else experiencing the same thing when tethering? is tethering just hard on the phone?

Charging makes the phone heat up anyways, and so does tethering....I wouldn't suggest doing them at the same time from my experience...I think the Droid can handle it honestly, but you just never know about the long run
