Will using my samsung S2 with oily hands destroy the touchscreen?

Hi all.
Ive been recently reading on forums that moisture can ruin touch screens. Since i use hand lotion everyday, would this mean im also destroying my S2 screen? Please note i have a screen protector and a flexy plastic case on at this very moment, all the time. Thanks all.

You're fine as long as you have a protector. I usually wipe it off with the cleaning cloth that comes with the protectors every once
In a while to get rid of smudges and "improve responsiveness."

Great, thanks. And if my protector was off, and i used it with my 'lotioned' hands - would that ruin my screen?

only in the sense that it would retain visible lotion residue, which you would wipe off. leaving it would not damage the screen, unless you've somehow removed the glass without also removing the digitizer.

Lol this makes me feel so much better. Cheers.

My husband and I both wear glasses so we always have the little spray bottles of cleaning solution and soft cloths around the house. Once every few days (if I remember) I'll give the screen a quick wipe down. Then I'm annoyed for a couple hours because it's "too clean". Fingers slide better with a little bit of oil. Lol.

nope, just as long as you wipe it you're good.

Even if you let it sit and buildup, it should be fine after a wipe. doesn't hurt to use solution either

Thanks to the both of you, maybe it was just my obsessive technology frenzy OCD slipping in! I may just wipe it with a micro fibre cloth before i go to bed, every couple of nights or so.

Really if you're using cleaning solution its gonna mess up your phone. With ANY electronical device you should use rubbing alcohol to clean it with the device off. Using a cleaning solution may work but imo doesn't work nearly as well. I usually fold a price of paper towel put it on top of the rubbing alcohol bottle tip it to get a bit on the paper towel and wipe it down. Try it and you'll be very shocked about how much veal comes off your phone.
