Solved Win7 PC no longer recognizes my android phone!

KitKat 4.4.2 on Note 3. I can no longer transfer files between my phone and my computer. Don't even know whether it's a Win7 problem or an Android issue, but suspect Android since the computer does continue to recognize thumb drives and camera.

I'm using the original USB cable. When I plug it in, the phone charges, but simply is not recognized as a device by Win7.

Android settings > Storage does not offer any way to check or alter MTP setting.

I have a whole lotta music stranded on my computer. Grrrrrrr.

Do you have USB Debugging enabled? It'll be in Settings/Developer options near the bottom

Tapped from a Moto X

Aaaaaand.... it's working! Have a USB icon in my notifications bar, a sync from WMP underway, and all is groovy! Thank you so much for your help! Why didn't this happen automatically?
