Wireless tether

I have it installed and it works fine until I enable access control.
I see my PC and mac address, I check the box to allow but then on the pc I get local only and can't get out to the internet.
If I disable access control I can.

What am I doing wrong?

Nothing. Your kernel has to be compiled to support access control. Chevy's kernels are compiled this way but I don't know about any others. The only reason I know about Chevy's is because he added the feature to the compile on a suggestion from me. Unless you're compiling your own kernel you'll have to talk to the person who built yours. Hope this helps.

It lets you limit access to the wireless tether to specific MAC addresses so people can't just hop on your tether when you have it up.

Unfortunately, access control is pretty much useless when it comes to security. Anyone who can read how to hack WEP, can easily change their mac address to spoof something behind the access point as it is easily seen in the broadcasts.

But you still have to check the box that allows that mac address on your D2. I used my other PC to connect using the password to my D2 but did not check the box, it could attach but couldn't get out to the internet.

By the way, using barnacle, you don't have to have a specially compiled kernel for access control.
