Now that we have root for the S5 we can install Xposed Framework and begin to install Xposed modules. There is now a module called X-tether that will allow you to bypass the entitlement verification allowing you to tether or hotspot for free! You will need to be rooted, you will need to have the Xposed Framework installed and you will need to head to the link below to download the Module. This has also been confirmed working on devices other than the Verizon Galaxy S5 like the Moto X, Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra, and older Samsung Galaxy devices. It should be noted that if you are using a capped data plan using the tether mod will still take away from your data allowance. I would recommend staying away from this altogether unless you have a grandfathered unlimited data plan.
