Trying to decide which to get. If I had a grandfathered unlimited, I would get the Maxx. But I don't. The X2 does have an Unlimited Data Plan, But it only gets 3G.

Unlimited or 4G?

Right now do you have a grandfather unlimited contract?

If 4G is useless and your not grandfathered in, I'd say take the X2. Could save you ALOT of money too since the X2 is older. Razr is soo expensive. My X2 runs great rooted and rom'd. Hope you find what you need.

Thanks for your input, I shall put it in my overall thoughts of decision.
Also, a question for you: Do you carry around an extra battery on a daily basis?

Well I actually have the 1990 mAh extended battery. Not much bigger then the original but it lasts me all day with alot of use. I keep two spare regulat size batteries but never use them since I only charge my phone once a day. That IS another good thing, REMOVABLE battery. Don't think I could handle not having the option to battery pull if anything goes wrong. All in all, my X2 is Awesome and I am not too worried about my upgrade date cuz this thing feels like it'll last for YEARS! Again, hope you find what your looking for.

I actually have a Droid X2 and considered the Maxx, but ultimately did not upgrade. I did side-by-side tests of web page loading with my phone and the Maxx (and other 4G phones) in the Verizon store and they all loaded at the same time. In fact, a couple loaded more quickly on the X2. Not sure what you use your phone for, but for data I usually just surf and e-mail. I don't download much and I don't watch much on YouTube, and I rarely use radio services like Pandora.

Also, the screen is the same size, and the Maxx might look a touch better because it's Amoled, but it's still an inferior screen to phones that are already sitting next to it on the shelf at the Verizon store.

The Maxx has that battery, and imo that's all it has going for it. 4G is unimpressive imo. The Maxx also doesn't have a removable battery, which some people don't like. And, of course, the X2 is going to be much cheaper.

If you're not a "latest and (not so) greatest" person, just get the X2.

I'm assuming by your post, you're trying to an assumption of liability on the X2 line? If so, and that line has unlimited, I would definitely recommend getting that line. The unlimited data is more valuable than anything else. Once you have that line, you can still upgrade your phone once it's up for renewal, keeping the unlimited!

I would go Razr Maxx. That's like asking for a punch in the face or a birthday present.

You would be out if your mind if you went to a tiered data plan. A 4g phone does no good past the 2gbs (or 4 depending on circumstance) of data. Especially if you plan on tethering.

+1. 4G=not worth it (rip you off) 3G=less chance of data drop, no teir and no fear of tether. X2 all day. Dont get me wrong, I would love the latest n greatest. But I like my pocket full of money even more...since I got the X2 in my other pocket! :p
