You have to take these early benchmarks with a grain of salt since they are so easy to fake. That being said we may have confirmation that the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi5 will have a Snapdragon 820 on board as previously rumored. A device called "Xiaomi gemini", which is rumored to be the Mi5, showed up today in a GeekBench benchmark. The processor is listed as a "msm8996" which is also thought to be the Snapdragon 820. Unfortunately the benchmark also shows the device is only running 3GB of ram instead of 4GB.
This benchmark lines up with a report from mobile analyst Kevin Wang who said that Xiaomi had come to an agreement with Qualcomm to release the first Snapdragon 820 phone. If this phone is complete enough to be pinging Geekbench we may see this sooner rather than later! Who knows maybe it arrives before Christmas!
