Although this has to be one of the oddest designs for a smartphone to come out in years, we can see how it might appeal to some folks even as it makes others vomit. Beyond the polarizing design aesthetics, the ZenFone 2 Deluxe Edition from Asus hosts a large array of high-end features for a smartphone. Here's a quick rundown:
  • 5.5-inch IPS (1920x1080) Display - 403ppi and Gorilla Glass 3
  • Intel Atom quad core Z3580 processor running at 2.3GHz with Power VR G6430 GPU
  • 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM
  • 13MP f/2.0 unit with dual LED flash and the front camera is a 5MP with a wide-angle lens.
  • 128GB Storage with support for a 64GB microSD card
  • 3,000 mAh (NON removable) internal battery
  • GSM/EDGE: 850, 900,1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz; WCDMA: Band 1/2/4/5/8; and FDD-LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/17/20
  • Android 5.0 with Red & Black themed ZenUI overlay
  • Both the carbon fiber and the faceted metallic silver back covers are included
If you just can't get over that bizarre, alien-looking metallic case, the back cover is removable and can be replaced with a carbon fiber back cover. Both cases are actually included with your purchase of the device which will retail for $399.99. Be sure to check out more pics of the Asus ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition in the thread below.

Not sure how I feel about that silver one. I kinda like it, I kinda don't.

Specs are decent... That black and red UI looks dated though.

I like it but stuck on Verizon so that doesnt work for me otherwise I would get it

Anyone ever watch the show viper back when the car first came out?? It looks like mosaic tile(silver) kinda different.. I wish this would work on vzw..its exactly what I'm after..a little small in the battery dept..but I can always charge on the go..

It looks a little "stealth-ish" like the f35 or f22 raptor..the way some of the panels lay down..so I guess I kinda like it..too bad it won't work on vzw..grrrrr

One thing about Asus, they know their market. I don't have an issue with the design. The specs are better than decent and the price is awesome. I do know that you can't get them here as they sold out the first day according to my local Asus shop manager.

Not stuck on Verizon:
  • GSM/EDGE: 850, 900,1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz; WCDMA: Band 1/2/4/5/8; and FDD-LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/17/20
You just need to pay full retail of $399.
TMO uses bands 2 and 4 on LTE/4G & 3G and band 2 on 2G
AT&T uses Band 17(700Mhz), Band 5(850Mhz), Band 2(1900Mhz), Band 4(1700/2100Mhz)

It might not work on Sprint but is works on TMO and AT$T.

What I mean is I'm stuck on Verizon since I am on Contract with them. Besides the Service for the other Providers are not as Good in my Area.
