Custom ringtones work intermittently

I have set up again and again and one call from someone set up with a custom ringtone will ring as default tone, then they call again and the custom ringtone sounds. This is driving me mad. It's almost like it's based on THEIR location. Which is crazy. Never had problem on og Droid.

It does happen on the original Droid as well as every other Android device currently made if you have enough background tasks running at the time the phone call comes in.

Thanks..maybe I never had other things going on my og Droid. I'll try to remember to kill stuff.
