I'd put my money on March for the gingerbread update for the D2.

Why is the Droid 2 getting the last to be updated. By the time it comes out for us, the others will probably be getting the gingerbread house, or whatever they want to call it.

Gingerbread is indeed next. Followed by honeycomb which will be optimized for tablets. The system versions are named alphabetically after deserts.

And yeah probably March but I have my fingers crossed for feb
