How to change menu key function?

Hi all. I noticed tapping the menu key opens up the recent apps list. It takes a long press for it to function as a menu key. This is my first phone (had Droid 1, 2, GS3) where the menu key does this.

Is there any way to invert the functionality? Thanks in advance!

I don't have my G3 yet but don't think the menu options can be changed.

Hopefully someone with a G3 will prove me wrong.

It's not a menu key, but a recent apps key with the menu key built in. That's why you have to long press it to make it work like a menu key. I wish they had included the option of adding a menu key, but they didn't on the stock launcher. At least they gave us the menu option with a long press.
