only if you unlock... you will need the phone to be recognized in fastboot mode for that though.

You said you have recovery, so how else could you be attempting to flash an ruu zip? You had to be unlocked to flash recovery.

If you are unlocked, you can flash a custom rom, you just have to follow the S-ON method. Doesn't matter if you are 100% stock, what matters is whether you are unlocked and have recovery.

I think he means the stock boot loader and recovery... not custom recovery.
