Just yesterday we shared rumored specs and a leaked promo pic regarding a device called the HTC One X9. According to the source of that story, the phone was going to come with a healthy array of high-end hardware. This morning we have a follow-up story with a contradictory rumor and completely different specs.

This second morsel of intel comes from the famous leaker, Evan Blass, aka @evleaks. Here's what Blass had to say:
All wrong. E56 sports a Mediatek SoC & 5.5″ FHD display. Memory is just 2GB/16GB, camera 13MP/4UP (OIS), w/ a 3000mAh battery.

If true, that would mean this new HTC device is even lower end than the HTC One A9. While we understand that HTC needs to make budget-friendly devices, it's still troubling that they can't come up with something exciting to market at the high-end. Let's cross our fingers that the usually accurate Evan Blass is wrong this time.

To segue off of what I said in the other thread, unless it's a regional device it wouldn't make sense for them to make a flagship level device between One M series iterations. They said one flagship per year and they seem to be sticking to that. I do like what the look of this device could mean for the M10 though.
