I was hoping to not have to go through all that.

I'll have to try plugging it in when we're both home and see what happens.

Sorry, didn't mean to be a downer; I just don't think any software update will help your phone at this point. My replacement experience was awesome, no issues whatsoever.

I agree. Had to replace 2 phones with this issue after update. Replacements went off without a hitch. New (refurbished), phones worked and looked flawless.
