I'm down the rabbit hole of cases on Amazon again now.

My issue is work. I'm in the trades, so I'm on ladders & lifts, in crawl spaces & attics, & usually covered in some kind of dust.

At the same time I want some awesome protection, I don't want a giant brick in my pocket either.

Unsupported video...

I'm leaning toward the Poetic Revolution or the Incipio Grip (up to 14ft drop protection) for my next case if OtterBox doesn't magically release the Commuter soon.

Ah! I switched to WebView & can see it now. I've had a couple Rugged Hybrid cases or whatever Spigen calls them. I'm leery of that smooth plastic on the back. I don't think that it will be as grippy as I would like.

Regarding the OtterBox Defender, because of the inner hard plastic case and outer rubber shell, the phone lays flat on the table. The camera doesn't portrude. Pictures taken with my Pixel 2 XL.

I think I mixed the names up on the Poetic cases. The clear backed one is the Guardian. I had that case for a previous phone. Didn't care for the clear back. Smudged & got dirty too easily.

I'm thinking I'm going to pull the trigger on the revolution with the kickstand. Not the greatest, but a bit better than what I have so far. I like the door for the charging port & I'm glad to see they're offering the option to not have the screen protector.

I've removed plastic screen protectors from a couple different cases over the years. I hate looking through a dirty/ scratched screen protector at my beautiful screens & am willing to risk some tiny scratches to avoid it.

Re: the OtterBox (Tapatalk apparently decided not to quote that post for me...)

That doesn't seem as bulky in your pictures as I thought it would be. Maybe I'll go for this one (or put it on my Christmas list).

No screen protector on it?

How are the sides? Does it make it weird to swipe to go back?

I'm noticing this Spigen case goes a little higher on the sides than the last case I had on here. Almost seems like it makes swiping from the side easier.

Haven't found a screen protector yet. Verizon didn't have any. What are you using? Getting along just fine with sliding.

I don't use them. I just know the Defender case I had for a previous phone had the built in plastic screen protector that I had to remove.

Whenever it arrives, I actually have another case I'm going to test out. It's one of those cases that could be interesting.
