I know that unlocking the bootloader will not affect the ota's, but should I root my phone and install the OTA, update than root, or forgo updating at all?

I updated to 4.02 then rooted...

ok thanks! If this messes me up, it's all on you! :p

Worked for me... did I forget the disclaimer? lol :)

Having said that :) You should take caution future updates just in case something goes wrong doing a OTA while having root. Do a image backup using CWM and make sure it boots reliably into CWM then do any future stock ROM updates while having root. That way if something goes wrong you can restore the image.

update then root. be patient when you unlock and root. phone stays on the Google logo for 5-8 minutes then all is well. My First app after root!? Adblock. I hate having ads on my phone!

We're supposed to get an update next week I think, take a chance or wait for the devs?
