My phone was working last night, was charged until this morning. It died this morning when I got home, and it has been plugged in for about 2 hours now. Everytime i try to turn it on it goes to a screen that says

"Bootloader
D2.37

Battery Low
Cannot program"

is there anything i can do to fix this?

You need to find another battery or find another way to charge.

this maybe caused from new update, others have had this happen
first I've seen with Droid 2, but same thing with D2G, and R2D2 with their lastest updates

DROID 2 4.5.621 Update Finally Arrives – Includes Security Patch and Handful of Other Fixes
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/04/14...f-other-fixes/

if you are on verizon take to store, and tell them, update bricked your phone

edit: this update can autoinstall, it will prompt you to update, but if no response continues with update

"Battery low" has nothing to do with the update.

ok, if phone has charged battery, it will boot normally?
phone won't charge in bootloader mode, take to verizon, ask them to charge battery

I'm having this same problem, however my phone was at half battery before the update prompt. I've restarted it a few times however it refuses to go past the boot screen. I'm not very good at the whole technical side of things so please be gentle.

Mine says

Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,00,00,23

Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB

(however when I didn't have it charging before, it would tell me to plug it in to a usb >_> )

your phone is in bootloader mode, no sure that's the error screen they meant
if pulling the battery doesn't work, take to a verizon store
Software Update: Droid 2 by Motorola - COMING SOON!
If the system update fails to install, you will get an error screen. However, this only means the software did not install
properly. Remove and re-insert the battery and power the device back on. The device will power back on with original
software and will prompt you once again to install the system update.
If the update fails again, please visit www.verizonwireless.com/contactus .

But I have taken out the battery, it went back to this screen. I've done it a few times.... I unfortunately cannot make it to a store anytime soon though :/

Called Verizon & Motorola

Yesterday morning I received the following message on a fully charged battery:

Bootloader
D2.37
Err:A5,70,00,00,23

Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB

My phone stopped working and still displays this same message. My wife's phone experienced the same problem. She visited the Verizon store whereas I called Verizon Customer Service, not knowing she went to the store. The store was informing people not to update phone's software after seeing my wife's phone. They didn't know what the problem was. As for me, Verizon Customer Service passed me onto Motorola tech support. Tech support had me try everything that is noted above, but with no success. Today when I called back at their recommendation of giving them time to research the matter, they still have no fix (factory reset didn't even work), so now they want me to send them my phone at their expense.

My wife had to purchase a new phone because she needs it to conduct business and cannot be without it.

probably good that a store and costumer service, were contacted, about this very bad update

edit: your wife should get her money back, call costumer service again

Our Droid 2 phones are being shipped back today to Motorola. The cost of my wife's new phone is another battle. In the meantime I had to recurrect an old phone for my cell phone service. Verizon does not have loaner phones for these situations.
