It is now several months after this thread started. I don't know if that promotion went away since December, but now they have sweetened the deal a little bit. Same 300 off, plus a free mini and chromecast. I need neither as I already have them, but I did need a new phone. I'm sure I will find a use for the new toys when they get here.

Thanks Sajo! Trying to find an affordable, decent screen protector now. Ended up with 2 Pixel 2xl because teen daughter's moto z2 play shattered and then totally died. Fun times....

Definitely the mini. I wasn't going to buy one but got it on the pixel 2 XL deal and now use it everyday. To be able to walk in door with a hand full of stuff and tell Google to turn on my lights is awesome. Equally so when you are walking out the door early for work when it's still dark out. To be in your car backing up while telling Google to turn out all the house lights. Yup it's convenient.
