Verizon just revealed they will be taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE Version Android Tablet on June 8th. No final release date was given, but considering the WiFi version is hitting store shelves on June 17th, that date is a safe bet. The tablet will come in a metallic gray or glossy white version. Furthermore, it will have two storage sizes: either a 16GB or 32GB model and cost $529 or $629 respectively on-contract. Of course it is a 4G LTE model and will run that way out of the box, (unlike the initial Xoom).

It will also launch with Android 3.1 and several accessories like a keyboard dock and multi-media station. The advanced TouchWIZ UI won't come with the initial launch, but is scheduled to come in a later OTA, (it probably has something to do with the Apple/Samsung lawsuit).

Is it still the 1ghz Hummingbird? If it is how can they justify $529 and $629?!?!

A Big box site has it listed with the below CPU
ProcessorNVIDIA Tegra™ 2 dual-coreProcessor Speed1.0GHz

Contract Pricing though ?
The price looks good , but many people dont want a contract.

T2 has issues with LTE...

Oh well, another Tablet I won't be buying.

I don't know....the dimensions on that bevel look awfully similar to the IPad :)

I see what you did there!!!

Honestly, I think Apple has no case on the HW design of Samsung's products... But TouchWiz is clearly iOS-inspired... Which is why this Tablet will ship without TouchWiz!!!

Everyone give thanks to Apple. Because of them we get vanilla android on the 10.1 tab instead of some crap overlay!!!!!

I still won't buy it though, LTE + T2 is a recipe for disaster. I'll wait for the new Ti chips.

Wait, so they got LTE and T2 working together? Or are they still in development stage and keeping fingers crossed? lol. Hope it's figured out, as I know Xoom owners have been waiting forever now If this is the case and the form factor has been untouched even with a LTE radio, I would be impressed. Either way though, I plan on getting the Silver 16GB WiFi version anyway. :)
