Where did the contacts go?

Some of my most frequent contacts do not appear on the contacts list any more. But when I do a search for them they are found. Where did they go?

This happened on my wifes Droid here is how we fixed it. Go to your contacts list. Hit the settings button (the icon near the bottom of the phone with the four lines) and hit display options. Click on your gmail account address and scroll to the bottom of the list that appears and be sure the "all other contacts" is checked off. This worked for her hope it helps you as well.

They are probably still on your SD card. Go to contacts/menu button/import-export and select import from SD card.

Actually, I check the box to display all other contacts. Thanks. Fixed.

Thats what I meant LOL. After rereading what I posted I can see taking the phrase "checked off" the wrong way. Glad it's squared away!
