Dim LED Notification light

I've had the Droid since Feb. and use the blinking notification light consistently as my phone is usually on silent or vibrate. Lately the light has gotten so dim that unless you are in a pitch black room you can't even notice that its blinking. The light is definitely working its just incredibly dim. Is there any way to fix it? can the notification light burn out?..I've only had it for a few months. Help please!
