Droid Touch Screen recently unresponsive?

Hi All,

So for about 3 days now my touch screen has been unresponsive and I am not able to unlock my phone... I can still change the volume and receive calls and texts but cant actually look at what it says or pick up my phone. I remember wearing some new pants that might've had dust or something that could've affected it because before it was fine. Today I decided to try to hard reset to see if that did anything but now it just tells me to touch the screen to begin which I cant =.= . I also tried unlocking it w/ a magnet but it wasn't a strong enough magnet I guess =/. Really looking forward to being able to have a phone again soon I hope! Anything helps!

This has been happening to me, only when the qwerty board is open. Anyone else been having this problem? I've restarted my phone, but the problem still remains. I don't want to hard reset it yet, but that's my last resort
