External sd card

I have a sd card and for some I cannot access it in recovery (cwr or safestrap) and if it does let me (cuz it has once) it wont let me install a rom from it. It usually says it cannot open or access it.

try formatting the card? I've installed off the sd-ext card via safestrap many times.

Letting the phone format? I just reformatted it the other day. Didnt work... :/

Also I get "error loading media" when I take picures on my stock rooted d3. Idk what to do... like the thumbnails show, but the picture isn't there, whem I send it in a text or email or put it staright to the comp, its blank.

How do I do format sd-ext card? I see to format internal but not external? Can I format from PC? I was always instructed to format from phone, coming from OG Droid.
Edit: Nevermind. Formatted using PC and all is well.
