The Chinese mobile hardware manufacturer, Huawei, is set to hit the ground running in a bid to make its competitive mark in U.S. markets. Just yesterday, we shared the first inklings of their newest MediaPad 7 Lite, but the specs were not released. Today they sent out an official announcement complete with specs and their bizarre marketing tagline. The tagline reads, “handy, poshy buddy.” Here are the specs below while you try to figure that one out:
  • 7-inch 1024 x 600 IPS LCD
  • Metal unibody casing
  • Android 4.0
  • 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor.
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 8GB of storage
  • 3.6Mbps UMTS/HSDPA modem
  • SMS and MMS messaging
  • WiFi b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • A microUSB port
  • 0.3-megapixels front camera
  • 3.2-megapixels rear camera
  • Accelerometer, ambient light sensor and digital compass
  • 4,100 mAh battery
While they did release these specs today, they are still being tight-lipped about pricing and availability, but we will keep you informed when the release more info.

no thanks. Since its Chinese, I expect my info to be hacked by the government of China if I had one of these.

To be competitive they're going to have to be around the 150$ mark... that's my guess.. they have to contend with jb and the fact that the nexus-7 is a nexus.. for those who know what that means... this tablet won't compete.. IMHO. Also the metal construction may interfere with the wifi reception like it does on the prime...

With those spec's, it this thing is more than $99 it's not worth the money.....

This thing doesn't even come CLOSE to competing with the Nexus 7. It might compete with a Coby tablet, but definitely not the Nexus 7.
