Can't wait to be one of the new owners of the Special Edition R2-D2 Motorola Droid2? According to Droid-Life, roughly 50,000 units will be available September 30th in a Galaxy not so far away. The phone will have the same hardware specs as the current droid2 with an R2-D2 like body and come pre-loaded with Star Wars content. (star wars theme?) Will this phone require a new plan or upgrade to buy? Id totally get it if i could just store it.... I collect stuff like this but im not getting it if i have to get a new plan for it (as i would not want to touch it, let alone use it. ) Im a tade hard on phones...my droids been dropped many times.

I wonder if they're making spare R2 cases so that when someone who owns one of these collectibles scratches, dents, or loses a part it can be replaced... <grin>

I just had a thought...

If I am able to get my hands on one of the 50,000 limited R2-D2 Edition Droid 2 models that are coming out....

...I would totally paint my ezeStand white to form the legs of R2-D2 thus completing the R2-D2 look!!! :tongue:

I think it would be a fun gimmicky mod.
