Soft Keyboard not working?

Semi-often when i go to use the soft keyboard, either texting or browser or really any app, it doesnt input the letters as i tap them. The phone isnt frozen or locked up, everything seems to work as normal except that the letters i'm tapping do not apear in the text box...any ideas as to whats going on with that? I have to slide out the physical keyboard, which works fine, and use that when this happens.

I've not had this particular issue. Have you tried a factory reset?

Factory reset is more than just popping out the battery correct, it blows away everything? I havent tried that but i'm not sure what's a bigger pita, reinstalling/configuring all my apps or dealing with the keyboard issue, lol.
