I was having issues with 4g not coming back after I changed "entitlement check" at 150 from 1 to 0. I also had data dropping repeatedly. I was near doing the factory data reset but I found this app on the Play store developed by Moto Mobility called "restore connectivity settings" ran that app and rebooted. Turned on the stock tether app and it has had zero connectivity issues since.
