I'm still on 905 and all of a sudden in the last 2 days battery life has vastly improved. Anybody else noticed this?
So we are finally on the verge of ICS and now this happens. Anybody notice any difference in 4G as well?

one of 3 things happened. 1) less usage 2) less usage 3) with out getting an update for your phone, your phone will not magically get better. sorry

4) An app was updated (or removed) and now is less of a hog.

that too. or did a reset, cleared cache, watched less porn. just replying to ops post as tho it magically fixed itself. wish i was that lucky.

Please keep it respectful. Thanks.

I agree with the app. You might have recently deleted or upgraded an app the uses alot of resources.

Have you noticed any difference in reception? If your last question is saying your 4g is better then perhaps a cell closer to you went live causing your phone to not use as much power holding the strongest possible signal.

A few weeks ago I noted the same thing. Thought my extended battery was failing so replaced it - and no difference. Finally downloaded an app called A Better Battery. This helped me track it down to an app that I had updated. I could do without it so I removed it, and that resolved the issue. The reason other apps couldn't help is that the offending app was an active wallpaper which triggered 10%+ per hour drain attributed to the OS.

A Better Battery has a neat feature that shows average hourly burn rate - should tell you if you've got a problem. On my phone I see 4-6% per hour when it is working normally. With excellent coverage it can get down to 2-3% per hour. Anything over 6% and I look for a problem, or just reboot.

As others stated, could be apps, could be spotty coverage. I've also had a runaway Email app and runaway bluetooth. First thing I do if I'm seeing a big power drop is to reboot, which usually clears it up.

Do you have a link to that app?

The only thing I can say is I updated some apps. However I have noticed this in the past right before updates to the operating system come out as well. The battery life suddenly seems to improve. Then many times the os update takes you back to where you were...or worse. Interesting phenomenon.

Sorry, yes that's it.

Is this app worth the purchase? I haven't had great luck with battery life on ICS so far. Seems like most people are getting good results but my ICS results are nothing like what I was getting on .905. I did a FDR before going to. 232 and then I used HOB to go to .247. I've erased tons of apps hoping to eliminate the culprit but its still not even comparable to what I got on .905. I'm just wondering if this app is worth the money and if it will be of any help. I realize the app is only $3 which is cheap enough to give it a shot if it'll actually be of value. BTW I have a Moto extended battery.

I was thinking so but now am favoring GSam Battery Monitor (pro or free). Has many of the same features of BetterBatteryStats, but seems easier to use. Really either one should be able to help you track down the issue.

What do you mean by bad? Since getting an extended I don't really worry or pay attention (just need to get through day) but I generally get a full day and put on charger at night by 10 or so. Here is today's use (if it attaches). I had it plugged in to go back to .246 then on 15 ride home.
