want to change boot loader animation and lockscreen

running a droidx rooted on .596 with liberty. i tried to load a boot animation through root tools app and itdidnt take. tried it about 4 times. went to the sd card and ttied to open the file, and it says it wont read file. what gives? am i missing a step? is there a better program for this?

also, is there a way to change my lock screen and the slider?

Use liberty toolbox and mount your system to read/write, then get root explorer from the market and place your bootanimation.zip in to data/local.

As for the lock screen slider try widget locker from the market or lock 2.0
