Hi all,

I have been using Galaxy S4 for a while and recently bought One M8 from local store. My question is how to move the old contacts and text messages directly to M8 as the S4 starts getting lagged. Any app or software designed for this kind of purpose?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum.

If you are synced with Google you should get them on your M8 when you log into your Google account.

I use Google hangouts for SMS. When logging into my new S5 all conversations moved too. Didn't know this was a feature.

Your contacts should be backed up to your google account, so when you log into your M8 they should be there.

As for your SMS, I use SMS Backup & Restore. Once backed up you can move the backup file or email it to yourself and just load it up on your M8.

1. Turn on Bluetooth for both devices and copy Samsung contacts to HTC
2. Pair both devices to each other
3. Go to Blackberry's Bluetooth setup, and select the Android phone- for me it's SGH-T889 renamed Galaxy Note 2.
4. Press the enter key or trackpad, and the device menu will pop up.
5. Select "Transfer Contacts"
6. Your Android device will popup a request to accept a file named Phonebook.vcf'. Choose ACCEPT
7. Your Android will now accept your complete contact list!
8. Your welcome! Now if your in LA buy me a chocolate puddinf cake and a Coke.

Hope my answer helps!

You can transfer contacts via SD card.

I think SmartIO will be better option of content transfer and recovery.

I use MyBackup Pro. IMO, it is worth it to pay for the app. I am not saying it is necessary. I have been using it since 2011 when I first started to use Android. Works great.

Mobile Transfer supports transfer data between two android phone .

I use SMS Backup +
It backs up your messages and call log entries to your gmail account from your Galaxy S4. Then on your One M8, you select restore and they get loaded. Or you can use Phone Transfer to do it in one click.

I have been using SMS backup + for multiple phones and it saves every text to my email.
My contacts are all backed up to the gmail account (google, account ) associated with my phone.
So when i register my new phone with my Gmail account it auto syncs my contacts.

Want to find a way to transfer contacts and sms from galaxy s4 to One M8? It's easy with Phone Transfer tool or Google account. Just search the details online by yourself.
