Anyone using Google Messenger on the T2?

I'm a big fan of delivery reports with sms, I turned on delivery reports on Google Messenger and they are not working. Would someone else mind trying it out and see if the delivery report checkmark shows up when messaging another Vzw phone?

I wonder if there is a database or storage incompatibility with Messenger, it also doesn't work right with Hangouts. All the regular 3rd party apps work as normal.
