Browser back problem after update?

Does anyone know a fix for this issue? It is driving me insane. Everytime I hit the back button in my browser, instead of it taking me to the previous page, it takes me completely out to my phone's home screen. I have to open a new window to get back to the page I was on before.

What I did

I downloaded Opera mini browser and it seems to work just okay but at least I can go back to previous pages.

Surely this is something they will fix right? Very annoying I am relieved however that its not just my phone

Download a new browser, the stock one is weak anyway.

Have the same problem. Last I checked, I don't recall agreeing to be a beta tester for Verizon or LG. This is a pretty basic bug, you would think they would have caught that in the 6 months or so between the time Gingerbread was available and when they ported it to our phones. Highly disappointed.
