Heads Up: Need to select Vendor File in TWRP Backups

Supposedly that'll fix the issue, from XDA. They're saying only back up the data, system, boot partitions and don't even back up the vendor. Just remove any security on the phone, back up the three partitions and you should be good with no issues.

Hope so, not being able to test drive ROMS without all that setup work sucks.

@popcenator - What do you think about changing the thread title. After what we've uncovered it's misleading.
Maybe something like "TWRP and Secured Device Backup/Restore Issue" ?

Maybe "Properly Backing Up/Restoring in TWRP" or something.

I'll have a build out tomorrow maybe. I just need to iron out my Camera FC issue. Going to test out building Kylo kernel inline tonight. If all goes well, I will make my first public build.

Soon as you're ready, I'll test out the no security recovery theory and your ROM as well!

Sounds good. I really have no idea what the problem is. Havent tried to recreate it yet. Just need a fully booting ROM at this point.

Bring on the ROMs chevy!

I found some info about clearing security so you can restore a different ROM backup

2 schools of thought.

1. Remove security prior to backup - and then again prior to restore

or if that isn't possible or doesn't work

2.1 Boot into recovery
2.2 Go to advanced>file manager then /data/system and delete the 2 *key files and the 3 locksettings files.
2.4 Boot into ROM and you should be able reset everything. This happened after I flashed the vendor.zip as well.
