HOW-TO: Get 2.1 on your Milestone!

worked perfectly for me on my UK 2.0.1 milestone using in aus.
:) thanks

Hi the Matrix,
Thanks for the changes - I much prefer gmail to K9.
Everything looks good, except when I connect via adb.

I think that the mounts are different from the standard mounts and I get lots of extra characters that look like formatting codes for a terminal - which makes it hard to work.

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>adb shell
/ # mount
mount
rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs (rw,mode=755)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,mode=600)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
/dev/block/mtdblock20 on /cache type yaffs2 (rw,nodev,noatime,nodiratime)
/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /sdcard type vfat (rw,nodev,noatime,nodiratime,fmask=0000,dmask=0000,allow_utime=0022,codepage=c
p437,iocharset=iso8859-1,errors=remount-ro)

UK MIlestone rooted using the stock rom + root and the other two roms as well and it looks like the my location feature stops workig for some reason. Everything else on the rom is working perfectly. It keep giving the error your location is temporarily unavailable. Reverted to my unrooted stock uk 2.0.1 rom and everything is back to normal.

have searched quite a bit and there seems to be no solution posted anywhere. Is anyone else from UK facing this issue ?

I am sure you will have to wait until the UK update finally shows up!
When will that be, hopefully this year... Sigh...

Motorola Europe For UK Milestone owners and those on Vodafone Germany, we apologise for the delay in the upcoming 2.1 upgrade. Issues occurred in testing on the networks and this has held up the process. We are now in final testing for the UK and assuming no further issues arise, this will be released next week.

Still another week of waiting, sigh...

hey guys

i keep getting the error in command prompt "error: device not found" , ive followed the instructions to the letter but keep getting errors

anyone got any advice ?

enabled but still no dice
could it be because of windows 7

i did exactly that and it works when the phone is on but in recovery mode it doesnt pick up the phone

Which recovery are you using? I am using ADB Recovery v6. Also do you have Moto Media Link installed? I had to disable that as it switches the phone to Memory card from the portal &tools mode that is needed.
