Light sensor filter, Allow light decrease, Decrease hysteresis???

I browsed and searched this forum for answers but couldn't find any?

Just what do the Light sensor filter, Allow light decrease,and Decrease hysteresis settings do? Explanations?

I figured out the Screen dim level and Edit other levels... settings, and put great use to it. I find the stock auto-brightness settings to be a lil' bit bright. So this is a godsend when it comes to battery life. I like max out my battery life wherever I can and like to know what those other settings do if they can help with the battery life.
