Samsung told them it had to be paired and their Samsung rep doesn't know how to pair them?^^^
True, now I wonder why Best Buy doesn't sell these in their stores....

"I don't know" is not an acceptable response by cs reps and the guy probably couldn't think up anything better on the fly.^^^ it's obvious it didn't have to be paired, the pen just worked.
I wonder why Samsung told me that.

Doesn't matter the title, they all have to follow a certain protocol when it comes to dealing with customers. The only advantage a supervisor has is to probably stray a bit away from the protocol and try to relieve whatever issue as quickly as possible. Obviously this supervisor was following protocol and just trying to get your device into Samsung.^^^ Dezymond
The Samsung supervisor a woman from Denver told me on the phone that night that the Spen had to be paired with the EMEI number of the phone, I am typing this right now with my new pen! Ridiculous...

Not true, I've had 2 styli commit suicide and I got new ones from Amazon. They range from $10-$20.Well Samsung told me that the Spen needs to be paired with the EMEI number of the phone.

By the way. I received a new SPEN from Samsung a few days ago free of charge!Two hours and my head would have exploded LoL. You have true patience. Glad you found a solution! Good to know an Amazon spen also works!
