Well after watching a few videos on the Note 8 tablet I am once again reminded how much more functional/easy the old S Pen was. Being able to just hold the button and crop the screen or just pressing button and taping the screen to grab it.

What I am after is an app or something that brings that easy function back. Has anyone found anything? Can we get enough interest in it to get something done about it?

They "improved" it by adding air command. Under S Pen settings do you have it set to open air command when you detach the pen? That's actually 1 step faster than the old method and no need to fumble for the button . If you use the pen for writing, like I do, often you can have it set to open air command on detach and just tap anywhere else on the screen if you're not going to use any of the 4 choices.

I actually have that feature off. Most of what I use my pen for is circling on photos and screen shots. I miss just taping the screen to capture it and be able to write and do as I need. More of what I miss and haven't been able to find is just being and to trace part of the screen and crop that part. I can crop a box but just just what I trace around. I used that a ton also.

Not that it has much to do with the OP, but I also turned off the option to have Air Command open when I detach the pen. Do you guys leave the "pointer" on? You know, the little dot while you hover over the screen? That's another thing that I turned right off.

I have mine on because I don't know what 99.9% of icons in apps, on web pages, etc stand for. It tells me what they are. I use it like the hover option on my desktop.

No, I mean the little blue dot that's like a laser pointer or something. I like the feature that works like hover on the desktop.

Same thing. Pointer shows blue dot when no available actions, sort of like the on-screen arrow with Windows

The little blue dot only appears on mine when I'm close to something that'll have an action
