Tethering to my Original Droid issue

I have tried these steps in the link that is posted but when I start the wireless teather it is asking me if my device is rooted, and yes I have root. Anyone else having this issue?

Ya I had the same issue it would say my phone was in an unknown state and asked for me to reboot my phone I rebooted with the same message. I rerooted my phone and the same thing, I only got anywhere with the wifi tether 3.0

I have tried the bluetooth tethering process with my ToshibaThrive and it seems the "profile option" to thether once they are paired won't show up
