Use D2G on Wifi only

I have a shiny new D4 coming in the mail but I want to continue to use my D2G around the house just on Wifi. I'd like to do a factory reset on the D2 to clear all the crap off. Do I need to do that while my verizon service is still active on the D2 or can I activate my new D4 and factory reset the D2 at my leisure? Thanks!

You can factory reset as many times a you want if it's activated on Verizon or not

Excellent! I just wasn't sure if it needed to talk to verizon to reactivate something.
