What exactly are the benefits of rooting?

Hey all, I have a question. I've heard much about wheter to root or not and am wondering what the best few benefits of having a rooted bionic as opposed to it the way it is.

Main reasons why I rooted my Droid X shortly after getting it on launch:

Freeze Bloatware
Custom ROMS and Themes
Wireless Tether
