0 bytes ? why ? :/

It's weird and one that no one seemed to address - there was no problem.

For some reason on my old WinXP SP3 adb runs fine, show devices worked and I added the spk-windows-tools to my path. I did everything that you guys were talking about plus retracing steps. Always got "0 bytes" in the push. Finally, out of frustration I opened Astro file manager and looked at the root of the sd card to see if there were any obvious problems - and all the files I had been trying to push were there.
As proof, I completed the rest of the steps in birdman/rainabba Droid X root and everything worked fine.

The problem wasn't in adb function, it was in the windows/dos display of what was happening. Remember - where Samyo stopped (and me too) was before root shell is executed, so we were still running adb commands at a dos prompt.

At least that's my guess at what happened.

I was checking back just to ask if he had ever actually looked the sd card root dir just to see. It's a weird problem but you can google several instances of it with no real solutions.
