$150 Lapdock 500

I have seen at least one person have this issue but wanted to post here to see if others have it too or at least give you guys something to watch out for.

Ever since using my lapdock for the first time, my battery life has been horrible... like 4 hours. And 2 hours on the charger only gave me back 10%. I noticed in battery usages it was something called evbridge. And in running apps, both webtop and a docking app were running in the background. Apparently my phone was not recognizing that I was no longer connected to the dock.

I tried killing the apps but they would just come back on. I tried to reboot and they would just come back on. Nothing I did would stop these processes and save my battery so finally I did a restore back to stock and now I have my normal battery usage back. I am going to connect to the lap dock later and see if it happens again. If so, I will have to return it because I just can't survive on 4hrs of battery. And I don't want to restore every time I take the phone off the lapdock. :-(

Got mine today ordered it on Saturday. Been playing with it and it works really well for what it is. Would not pay full price but for the $160.00 it cost me it is a good deal. Will fit good in my travel bag for internet on the go.:icon_ lala:

I just started playing with mine that showed up today. So far I love it, and will call it money well spent. Had to reboot to get the screen to show right, but other than that, no complaints yet. Hoping I don't end up with the battery problem that has been mentioned though.

Bought this in part to provide a movie platform for Netflix. Although it appears to play films, exiting from Netflix crashes the Razr Maxx and causes it to reboot. A check of the Motorola support forum indicates I'm not alone. Have a question in to Motorola regarding the problem (which doesn't appear to occur with the Droid Bionic.) If and when they answer the question, I'll report back.

Short story so far. Not very impressed.

I will confirm that it is not a problem with the Bionic. I just watched some netflix to try it, and had no problems. Have unplugged and plugged back in since with no issues.

Finally got mine today:) worth the $160, screen lacks the pop of my Bionic but still nice. Netflix works great, only played around with for half hour. More tomorrow, stinks having to be back on stock rom to use lapdock lol. Really, missing my ICS but hopefully webttop is figured out soon.

Just wanted to update my experience.

After restoring back to a fresh stock unrooted, the lapdock works great. When I was rooted it was very slow and it just didn't play nice even though I was on stock. For me personally, being rooted gave a poor experience but now everything works great. Just watched Netflix with no issues and when I disconnected, my phone is acting normal. No more battery drain .

Just curious if when watching Netflix you stopped the streaming prior to its completion. The bug I noted above (i.e. crashing the Razr) appears to occur when the streaming is interrupted. BTW, my RM is not and never has been rooted.

I'm not too happy... just got an email from Verizon that my internet order for the Lapdock 500 could not be completed and is cancelled... GRRR!! Those who got this deal got lucky. :(

Just curious, when did you place your order?
I placed it Sunday, February 26th at 8:00 AM.

*EDIT*
I contacted Verizon asking why my order was cancelled and I had not authorized it and received this in response..

Dear Valued Customer,

The order automatically cancels after being on hold for 7 days. We will open the order back up and have it remain on hold waiting for the backordered stock. You will not lose your place in line. Once the order ships you will receive a confirmation email with the tracking information.

I wish that there other webtop apps. Everything operates within the Firefox browser, but I would like if there were more apps native to the webtop. Something Office related would be best. Right now I'm either using Quickoffice Pro in full screen mode or going to using Google Docs in Firefox. I would love a native Google Docs app.

I would also recommend that anyone with a lapdock use a mouse. It operates much more smoothly than the trackpad.

Don't feel too bad, Dan. I may have a lapdock for sale. :)
