160 characters

So, sent a useful txt to a friend. Then, received a txt from verizon that only 160 characters were sent!

I'm supposed to count how many characters were in the message before i sent it!!

RIMM does a nice job of letting one know that the field is full while typing. Can we see a feature like that with the droid? Would much rather see that, than wonder about what part of my message that my friend didn't see.

Download Handcent. It has an option to auto-split any texts of 160. So basically you can type whatever you want, Handcent will take and split it into 160 character texts and send them individually.... up to three as SMS, after that it's converted to MMS, but it still sends ALL of it, not just the first 160.

the stock messaging app really stinks compared to it.
